Full Moon in Sagittarius 6*11*25
Wednesday, in the wee, wee hours of the morning, the Moon at 20 degrees of Sagittarius was opposite the Sun at 20 degrees of Gemini, forming a Full Moon. The Gemini- Sagittarius axis deals with ideas, logic, and data (Gemini) and ideals, beliefs, and philosophy (Sagittarius). Sagittarius takes the information Gemini provides and expands it. Both are mutable signs which makes them restless and curious. Sun in airy Gemini likes learning, conversation, and socialization. Moon in fiery Sagittarius is looking for inspiration, fun, and adventure.
Lived Experience vs Beliefs
This Full Moon will shine a light on your beliefs. Have your lived experiences in your corner of the world (Gemini) supported or contradicted your beliefs about how the world operates (Sagittarius)? What inspires you? When is the last time you looked at your ethical standards or ideology? How willing are you to entertain alternative perspectives? Can you articulate your beliefs clearly? Do they make sense when you hear them in your voice?
We often claim to be too busy for this type of self-reflection. Under this lunation, there will be opportunities to examine your judgements and convictions. You are being pushed to bring your guiding principles into your awareness. Sharing them with others is optional. That said, can you discuss ideals and beliefs or do you debate them? Despite being a mutable sign, Sagittarius can be quite dogmatic. Moon in Sagittarius brings some fluidity to the sign. It wants to explore new ground and acquire deeper understandings, not simply recycle old sound bites.
Included here are your beliefs about yourself. The New Moon in Gemini the end of May highlighted the power of your words and the way you use them. Do you speak in ways that are inadvertently self-sabotaging? Are your thoughts about what is possible for you true? Where do you focus your energy? Thoughts are measurable energy, and Einstein showed that energy and matter are interchangeable. What kind of future are you creating for yourself?
Both Saturn and Neptune are in the early degrees of Aries. Previous posts on them are here and here . In the context of this Full Moon, Saturn is demanding that we assess our dreams for ourselves realistically and honestly. What has not taken root? Can you let it go? What is consistently calling you? Are you ready to commit to it?
Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, moved out of Gemini and into Cancer on Monday, June 9. It will stay there until June, 2026. There will be a separate post about this coming. For now, remember Jupiter focuses on growth and expansion. In Cancer, it will focus on the Cancer themes of home, foundations and security. What are your beliefs about what you need in order to feel safe? Where did those beliefs come from? Are they true, meaning do they align with your lived experience or did you absorb them from someone or somewhere else? Do you trust your ability to create a sanctuary for yourself? What would that look like, or more importantly, feel like? Cancer is a water sign, so feeling is the key. Over the course of the next year, how will you make your self-care a priority? How will you show up for yourself?
Consider what might have begun at the Sagittarius New Moon on December 1, 2024. Anything seeded then will be coming to a culmination or turning point now.
Change is the only constant
This spring has been filled with transitions as Neptune and Saturn moved into Aries and Jupiter moved into Cancer. It will continue as Uranus moves into Gemini in early July. With Pluto solidly in Aquarius, all the outer planets with the exception of Jupiter will be in fire or air signs. This marks a change in how we experience and process our world. Fire signs are idealistic and creative. Air signs are in the world of thoughts and mental constructs. Air signs create a vision and fire signs ignite it with passion. The combination is a powerful change agent. Further, never before have all the outer planets shifted signs in such quick succession. This is new ground we are walking.
In the fall, Saturn and Neptune will dip back into Pisces to encourage us to deal with any lingering victim patterns or other ways we undermine our agency. They will reenter Aries to stay in early 2026. This summer is giving us a taste of what is coming when these planets settle into their new signs next year. The choice for each of us is how to focus our energy, our passions, and our unique talents in service to a vision of our highest potential. How do you want your life to proceed for you? The stories you tell yourself and the underlying beliefs they are founded on got you here. This is an opportunity to explore the type of future you want to invest your energy in.
"Every human has four endowments - self awareness, conscience, independent will, and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom...The power to chose, to respond, to change." ~ Stephen Covey
