Neptune in Aries 2025*2038

On March 30, Neptune moved into Aries. Neptune has not been in Aries for 165 years (the length of time it takes to orbit around the Sun) so this is a big deal. And given that all the outer planets - Uranus, Neptune and Pluto - are moving into new signs this year (well, Pluto entered Aquarius in November 2024 but let's not quibble about minor details - it was almost 2025), there is a lot of change energy right now.

Neptune's energy

All planets are specific types of energy. The sign they are in colors how that energy is expressed. Within the sign, there is a unique range of expression a planet can access. Neptune is the energy of higher knowing and spirituality. Rather than organized religion, Neptune represents the subtle awareness that there is more going on here than just what our five senses experience. Neptune is the "sixth sense"; receiving information from sources other than logic and data. Because it is otherworldly, Neptune does not operate optimally in the density of "normal" life where it often brings a sense of confusion or spaciness. It can show where there is deception in your life, both self-deception or someone deliberately misleading you. You might think that your intuition is finely tuned when Neptune is active in your chart. Sometimes it is, but not always. Neptune's information comes through your personal filter, which is affected by any number of things, including your beliefs about yourself, others, and the way the world operates. The more clogged your filter - meaning the more filled with preconceived notions - the less clear the information.

That is why Neptune uses dreams as a communication tool, including daydreams. They bypass the thinking mind. Are there any themes or repetitive concepts that are showing up for you in your dreams? Dreams use the language of symbols; they can't be understood from a logical perspective. They require you to engage with your higher mind to receive their insights. The next fourteen years will offer many opportunities to become fluent in this language by accessing your inner vision and wisdom.

If you know your chart and have any planets or points in the early degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn) you might be feeling ungrounded and more fatigued, even if you are sleeping well. You will also likely experience increased sensitivity to things like foods, medications, and environments. Certainly, get any symptoms checked out, but also remember to treat yourself gently if this is your experience.

Neptune in Pisces

Since 2011, Neptune has been transiting Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac. Neptune is literally at home in Pisces as it has rulership over the sign. Neptune in Pisces is sensitive and compassionate. It sees the suffering of the world and can absorb the pain and traumas in the collective. At its lower expression, this is the placement of the victim looking for a rescuer or an escape route. It can also express as the martyr archetype. This is not effective. You can't suffer enough to ease someone else's suffering. You can, however, take action to address suffering in your piece of the world, and that is what Neptune in Aries will galvanize.

Neptune in Aries

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries starts things. Because it is a cardinal sign, it is focused on taking action towards its personal priorities and ideals. For Aries, the focus is on getting its needs met and getting things done. Aries energy can be brash, impulsive, confident and independent. Neptune in Aries brings a spiritual awareness into life's expression. It connects the soul with the human. Aries is the most courageous sign, and Neptune in Aries asks us to bravely demonstrate our spirituality as we go through daily life. It also reminds Aries that leadership is an inclusive process. Aries likes to be first and can be inconsiderate of others, not out of meanness, but because it is so focused on self-expression. Neptune brings awareness of how actions affect others.

Neptune in Aries says: "It's time to remember all of who you are. You are more than just a distinct expression of will, desires, and needs. You are also part of a bigger reality, an aspect of creative expansion. It is time to step up and bring your soul into your human expression. What are you here to contribute in your unique way? What talents guide your purpose? What fuels your passion? What inspires you to reach for more in your life? Aries is not here to play small! Neptune in Aries asks you if your dreams need a revision. Like all fire signs, Aries is motivated by ideals. Have you lost sight of what you hold dear? How are you caring for and using your inner fire?

More to come...

Mercury and Venus both started their retrogrades in Aries, giving us pause to reevaluate and revise how we communicate (Mercury) our values and connect with important others (Venus). They are both ending their retrogrades in Pisces - shifting the focus to how we apply the clarity gained in service to the world. What started as a narrow lens was then widened. As they resume direct motion, they will make their way back through Aries, bringing opportunities to see how the revisions reflect our individual expression.

The end of May, Saturn will join Neptune in Aries, bringing some structure to the Neptunian intuitions. More on that in a separate post. For now, take time to explore your inner world. Express your creativity. Dream a little. Transcend a limit. Suspend disbelief. Play in the land of "what if?"

"We know what we are, but know not what we may be." ~ William Shakespeare
