Saturn into Aries 2025 * 2028

Very late Saturday night Saturn completes a 29 year cycle around the zodiac and starts a new one as it enters Aries for the first time since 1996. Saturn is the planet of boundaries and limits. Saturn brings a reality check to whatever it is involved with. It is a planet of responsibility, discipline, and structure. Saturn does not deal in fantasy or wishes. Saturn will refine a vision until it becomes a goal then come up with a doable plan to achieve it. Until 1781 when Uranus was discovered, Saturn was considered to be the final planet of our solar system because it is the last one to be visible with the naked eye. Uranus was not discovered until the technology of the telescope was developed.

Saturn's Energy

Saturn's energy is that of authority. It can be harsh and critical in its lower expression, but it is not controlling. That is Pluto's method of operation. Saturn is the energy of the strict teacher who knows exactly what you are capable of and does not tolerate anything less than your best.  Saturn demands we take ourselves and our talents seriously and honor them. It does not allow cutting corners or sloppiness.  Any attempts to get away with something will be called out. Saturn is exceedingly patient. It will not let you to move forward until you have mastered the task, whatever it may be. It might feel like you are being forced to repeat lessons you think you have already learned. Trust that if this is the case, Saturn is giving you the opportunity to go deeper into the condition and resolve anything lingering, no matter how small it may seem. Try substituting curiosity for frustration. What key point are you missing around the Saturn themes of discipline, boundaries, responsibility, self- respect, or achievement?

Saturn in Pisces

Since early 2023, Saturn has been moving through Pisces. Saturn will never be a warm and fuzzy energy  but during that time, it softened a little, as Pisces is a gentle, compassionate sign. The sign a planet is in sets the parameters for how its energy is expressed. As with all energy, there are lower and higher expressions. Saturn in Pisces brought a reality check to any martyr or victim scenarios that Pisces can get caught in. It also brought some stability and structure to Pisces dreaminess, encouraging creation of foundations under the 'castles in the air' that Pisces tends to escape to.

Think about the past 2 years. Which dreams were brought into sharper focus? Which ones did you realize were no longer calling you?  Did you let them go to make space for new ones? How did you manage your boundaries? Did you allow someone else to define your worth, potential, or what you are allowed to have or do? Pisces is a water sign, and water signs tend to absorb things from the external. That is why boundaries are critical (but challenging) for all water signs. Saturn is the poster child for boundaries. Saturn's transit through Pisces brought awareness to how we honor our boundaries, especially when we are motivated by the Piscean qualities of compassion and empathy. Saturn also pointed out codependency tendencies - the belief that "I can't be ok unless you are ok" and the depleting effects this has on individuals and relationships.

Saturn in Aries

Now Saturn is moving into Aries. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, as mentioned. It is the Cardinal Fire sign. Cardinal signs start things. Fire signs are motivated by ideals, inspiration and passion. As the first sign, Aries is focused on the self. It is independent, confident, and energetic. It can also be self-absorbed and impulsive to the point of recklessness. Saturn moving into Aries will initially feel like a restriction on all Aries energy wants to do. That is the point. Left to its own devices, Aries fire can scorch. Saturn in Aries will work towards banking the flames so they are more sustainable and can be used to fuel passion both in the self and others in a deliberate way.  Saturn tells Aries energy,  "Settle down. There is time to get your priorities accomplished. You don't need to run around and do everything right now. That is how you will make mistakes or create damaging unanticipated consequences. Let's see which of these interests are true passions. What are the things that capture your heart? That call to your soul? Slow down enough to hear their song. Let the rest go for now. We can always go back to them. "

The symbol for Aries is the Ram, horns ready to batter down anything in its way. Saturn's energy dials this back, bringing an inclination for acting more strategically. Aries impatience is well known and Saturn's more measured approach will likely be met with resistance. Saturn won't care. Again, if you feel like your needs are not being met or your desires are being thwarted, do something something physical to release that energy - Aries loves a good workout - and then come from a place of curiosity. What potential problem are you glossing over? Where might you have neglected a key point or important detail? Aries energy is a big picture focus. It tends to brush over the annoying details of implementation. Being aware of minor issues helps clarify the big picture. That doesn't mean you have to do it all. Saturn will teach Aries energy how to delegate, a critical skill for becoming an effective leader. And wherever you have Aries in your chart is where you are called to be a pioneer on the leading edge of something new.

Saturn and Neptune

Neptune moved into Aries on March 30 for its 14 year transit of the sign. This post reviewed it: Neptune in Aries . The combination of dreamy Neptune and practical Saturn in the initiator sign of Aries sets the stage for a new beginning. This combination is creative and magical (Neptune) with the discipline and endurance (Saturn) to bring the ideal version of you into existence (Aries). Both will retrograde back into Pisces in the fall, to reenter Aries early in 2026 to stay. Consider this initial time a precursor to what is coming. Be confident in your ability to navigate these times of transition. You have all the support you need.

"There is no passion to be found in playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."
