Current Energies
Here we talk about New Moons, Full Moons, eclipses, retrogrades and other shifts in planetary energies that influence each of us.
New Moon in Taurus 5*16*26
Saturday afternoon's New Moon in Taurus lands at just shy of 26 degrees of the sign of the Bull. New Moons happen when the Sun and Moon join at the same place in the sky, signifying a "new beginning" of sorts. In the dark of the New Moon, the purpose and individual will of the Sun meet the architecture of emotional needs and responses that the Moon signifies and they express through the archetype of the sign they are in. (Oh, is that all?)
Taurus is the fixed earth sign. It is practical, stable, steady, and predictable. It follows Aries. Aries energy wants to move - the faster the better. It wants to start things, take action, express itself, boldly go where no one has gone before. Taurus energy takes what Aries started and first, decides if it has value. Is this worth giving my energy to? Is it a good use of resources? Will it serve a recognizable purpose? If the endeavor meets this criteria, Taurus will consider what is needed to build a strong and stable foundation for the project. It will gather resources, formulate a plan, probably develop a timeline and then, when everything is available, it will begin the work of bringing the idea into material existence. And it will keep at it until the project is completed. Deliberately. Intentionally. Consistently.
Full Moon in Scorpio 5*1*26
And just like that we are in May and the Moon is Full in Scorpio. The Sun at 11 degrees of Taurus shines on the Moon at 11 degrees of Scorpio. While there are still 5 heavenly bodies in Aries, (Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Mercury and Chiron) the temperature has decreased a bit compared to April's New Moon with 7 planets in Aries. Still, this Full Moon is not exactly placid, despite the Taurus Sun.
The Taurus - Scorpio axis deals with security and resources. Taurus is the fixed earth sign. It takes what was started in Aries (cardinal fire) and builds something practical and usable. Aries inspires. Taurus does the unglamourous but important work of making the inspiration real. Taurus gathers resources and develops them. As the most physically oriented sign, Taurus processes life through the body. Experiences must feel good, must be soothing and pleasurable. Taurus is here to savor. The Bull does not do well when rushed. Taurus energy appreciates comfort, stability, and predictability.
Full Moon in Taurus 11*5*25
This Full Moon happens at 13 degrees of Taurus, opposite the Sun at 13 degrees of Scorpio. If you have planets or points at 10-16 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo) this lunation will activate them.
The Taurus - Scorpio axis is concerned with resources and security. For Taurus, security is tangible…Scorpio, the fixed water sign, finds its security through feelings…Scorpio is the sign of transformation and regeneration. It understands the importance of releasing that which is complete in order to allow the initiation of something new.
Full Moon in Scorpio 5*12*25
Monday afternoon just before 1pm (ET) the Moon will be full in Scorpio as the Sun at 22 degrees of Taurus opposes the Moon at 22 degrees of Scorpio. Full Moons are often turning points. Something started earlier reaches fruition. Something that has been tickling your awareness suddenly reveals itself completely. Truths come to light. On one level, there is no denying what you are being shown. You can, however, pretend not to see or choose not to act on the new information. That is the essence of your free will. It's a longstanding tenet of astrology that "the stars impel but they do not compel."
The Taurus - Scorpio axis deals with security.
New Moon in Taurus 4*27*25
On Sunday afternoon, the Sun and Moon meet up at 7 degrees of Taurus, marking the Taurus New Moon. New Moons are times of new beginnings. They signify a shift in focus to the qualities of the sign they fall in. Taurus is the fixed earth sign. It is grounded and practical. It values stability and consistency. Taurus takes the ideas and inspirations generated by Aries and brings them into the material world.
Full Moon in Taurus 11*15*24
Full Moons are times of revelation. They happen when the Sun and Moon are directly opposite each other, allowing the light of the Sun to illuminate the Earth facing side of the Moon completely. Friday's Full Moon happens when the Sun is at 24 degrees of Scorpio opposite the Moon at 24 degrees of Taurus. This axis deals with resources and security. Taurus links things with the body. This Full Moon highlights how safe you feel in your body. Along the Taurus - Scorpio axis, body (Taurus) and soul (Scorpio) must find balance and integration. This Full Moon is pushing hard for your growth.
