Full Moon in Taurus 11*5*25
Wednesday morning is the second "supermoon" of 2025. The first was in October. Supermoons are Full Moons that happen when the Moon is close to the earth compared to usual Full Moons. The proximity, as you would expect, causes it to appear bigger and brighter. In astrology, supermoons are considered to exert stronger effects compared to non-supermoon Full Moons. The closeness intensifies the caliber of energy we receive on earth. Astrology is an energy system, after all. I am not sure if supermoons are noticeably more influential than non-supermoons. In my experience, the variation can be subtle unless the Full Moon is making a close contact to one of your natal planets or points, like your Ascendant or there are other planetary doings that add their energies at the time of the lunation. While the energies of the planets are felt by all of us, it's when they connect to our individual charts that we are most impacted. This Full Moon happens at 13 degrees of Taurus, opposite the Sun at 13 degrees of Scorpio. If you have planets or points at 10-16 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo) this lunation will activate them.
The Taurus - Scorpio axis is concerned with resources and security. For Taurus, security is tangible. Taurus is the fixed earth sign. As such, it is oriented towards those physical aspects of life that contribute to us feeling grounded in our lives. It emphasizes using resources appropriately. This includes all resources - finances, time, possessions - all things that are valued. Taurus attributes worth to things things from the perspective of how much value they create. Value for Taurus us intimately linked to comfort. Taurus energy appreciates good food and comfortable environments. This nourishes the sensual side of Taurus. Consider how you create a sense of comfort for yourself. What are you investing in with your attention and energy? How do these things reflect your values? Are there things in your world that are no longer contributing to your peace? Can you stop inviting them in by turning your attention elsewhere? Is your environment contributing to your serenity? For Taurus energy, the environment is an extension of the self. It reflects what is happening internally. What is yours reflecting to you?
Taurus energy is not overly dramatic. It is too practical for that. Drama takes a lot of energy and can be unpredictable. Taurus dislikes waste in all its forms and most definitley eschews erratic anything. When the Moon is in Taurus, grounded tranquility is the goal. Taurus energy finds security in familiarity, but this can result in staying stuck in situations and relationships that have reached their expiration date. Full Moons bring things into consciousness. Where might you be choosing familiarity at the expense of genuine peace? Do you demonstrate your own value with your choices? Are you resisting that small voice that is urging you to free yourself from things that are no longer contributing to your quality of life? Relationships or situations that are becoming burdensome? Taurus energy is built for endurance, but just because you can endure doesn't mean that is the best option in all cases.
Scorpio, the fixed water sign, finds its security through feelings. In Libra season, we partner with others to form close relationships. Then we transition to Scorpio season, where we create with those partners, sharing ourselves and our resources. Scorpio is the sign of transformation and regeneration. It understands the importance of releasing that which is complete in order to allow the initiation of something new. For Scorpio, security is not material so much as emotional. Scorpio desires intimacy; the kind of intimacy that comes from a connection on a soul level. That requires willingness to be vulnerable; to be fully seen. This is not always easy, especially for Scorpio energy. It requires a level of empowerment that must be cultivated. When fully realized Scorpio energy is developed, there is no need to deflect or withold. Its security is internally sourced. It doesn't depend on the validation of anyone else. It does not need to control conditions or create a persona. Its value is firmly planted in its own understanding of its inherent worth and power. Are you willing to be seen by those you are in close relationship with or do you dim down or hold back? Does your acceptability rely on external validation or approval? Have you stopped to probe who or what that is connected to? To whom are you abdicating your power? What would happen if you stopped?
There are many forces in the world dedicated to creating the illusion of powerlessness; that tell the story needing to acquire power rather than create it. These stories are false. Empowerment is internally generated. It comes from appreciating all the things you bring to the table. All the resources available to you - your wit, your intelligence, your creativity, your kindness, your morals, your honesty, your capacity to care, and so much more - are waiting to be acknowledged each moment. They are meant to be honored, embraced, and explored as they contribute to your awareness of who you are and what you are here to share. Under this Full Moon, old patterns of compensating for perceived inadequacy or chasing security through acquiring things are going to be revealed. Don't look away. Instead, make some choices about how you want to revise those patterns to serve the next version of you that you are creating with each choice.
Uranus at 0 degrees of Gemini is exactly opposing Mars at 0 degrees of Sagittarius here. Uranus is calling for new ways of acting (Mars). Uranus wants to free us from limits and restrictions. It is retrograding back into Taurus a few days after this Full Moon to give us an opportunity to complete any unfinished business from its time in Taurus which started in 2018. For this lunation, however, it is challenging the way we express our physical energy. Mars is how we act and move in the world, how we go about getting our desires met and how we express anger. This can be a volitile combination as Uranus brings disruption to old patterns that are limiting and Mars in fire sign Sagittarius can be impulsive. This energy is best used after a pause to notice what you are being shown in the big picture. It is likely there will be some discomfort around what comes up. You will always be served by not doing anything until you are centered with Mars and Uranus aspects. They tend to amp up the nervous system, so taking deep breaths, extending the exhale so it is longer than the inhale, and expending nervous energy in physical activity before reacting can be great practices now.
Emotions will be coming up now. Jupiter, planet of expansion and growth, is in Cancer, making an easy trine to Saturn in Pisces. Jupiter is likely to bring up ignored or unprocessed feelings, especially around family connections and feeling cared for. While it might be uncomfortable, Saturn offers the clarity to move through any discomfort without going down rabbit holes. Saturn is great for releasing. This trine will continue through December. On November 17, the Sun will move to 25 degrees of Scorpio, forming an exact grand trine in water signs (Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Pisces, Sun in Scorpio). Emotions will be especially prevalent then and can be easier to acknowledge and gain their message. Any self deception is likely to be revealed then as well. A little objectivity can go a long way - instead of getting caught up in the waves, look for a spot on the shore and from a distance, consider what you are being shown. How else can these feelings be interpreted? What variations to the story I am telling are possible?
Finally, remember that Mercury is going retrograde on November 9. This supports the introspection of the water trine, but can be disruptive if you try to muscle your way through the currents that are asking you to slow down. The remainder of this year has strong completion energy. Cycles are ending, new ones are starting, and we are being invited to move forward into the vision we hold for ourselves and our lives, but first we need to release those things that are too heavy to carry forward. Drop them and let them become compost.
"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no security in what is no longer meaningful." ~ Alan Cohen
