Current Energies
Here we talk about New Moons, Full Moons, eclipses, retrogrades and other shifts in planetary energies that influence each of us.

New Moon in Virgo 8*23*25
Very early Saturday morning the Sun and Moon both enter Virgo at the same time, forming a New Moon at 0 degrees of Virgo. This New Moon is special for a few reasons. First, it is the first of two New Moons in Virgo this year. There will be a second New Moon in Virgo on September 21 which will also be a Solar Eclipse. Periodically a sign will have a double New or Full Moon (aka 'blue moon') and this is one of those times. Secondly, this New Moon is considered to be the start of eclipse season. The next two lunations in September will be eclipses, but this New Moon is paving the way for the influences of those eclipses. Third, a New Moon at 0 degrees of a sign is extra potent because the energy of beginnings is emphasized. New Moons are the start of a new lunar cycle, and 0 degrees of a sign is the critical starting point, the threshold of entry to that sign.

Uranus into Gemini 2025 - 2032
When Uranus moved into Gemini on July 7, it was the last of the outer planets to shift to a new sign. In November, Pluto had entered Aquarius after spending nearly 20 years in Capricorn. Neptune had moved out of Pisces, entering Aries the end of March. Now Uranus is leaving Taurus, where it has been since 2018. It's important to note that never in recorded history have all three outer planets shifted signs in so short a time period. Even more interesting is that both Saturn and Jupiter moved into new signs recently as well. Saturn joined Neptune in Aries in May and Jupiter moved into Cancer in early June. Jupiter and Saturn are not outer planets, nor are they fast moving personal planets. They fall in between and act as bridges for the energy of the outer planets and human life. The slow moving outer planets primarily exert their influence on the world stage through influencing the collective. Jupiter and Saturn connect these larger energies to the social groups we belong to (Jupiter) and how we ground and grow (Saturn) in these influences. The energy of change that is happening right now is undeniable.

Mars Square Uranus 6*14*25 - 6*17*25
Mars is in the final degrees of Leo, the fixed fire sign. Uranus is in the final degrees of Taurus, the fixed earth sign. Over the weekend they will form an exact 90 degree angle known as a square. Squares in astrology are "hard" aspects. They are dynamic, meaning they make things very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable, we are forced to change something about our approach in order to manage the energies of the planets involved. While this aspect is short-lived, when looked at in the context of the other changes we have been experiencing recently, it can express in powerful ways.
