New Moon in Taurus ⋆ 5.7.24
Late Tuesday night we will have a New Moon in Taurus with the Sun and Moon at 18 degrees. Taurus is the fixed earth sign. Earth signs experience the world through the physical senses, and Taurus is the most connected to the body. No other sign is as sensual. Taurus needs to feel physically comfortable in order to be content. Fabrics that are itchy, tight, too warm or not warm enough make Taurus cranky. If something does not taste or smell right, it will be left on the plate.
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is concerned with the self. Who am I and what am I here to do? What are my priorities and talents? How can I make a mark on the world in my unique way?
Taurus, the second sign, extends the concept of self to the environment. Now that I am here, what belongs to me? How do my possessions, which are an extension of myself, reflect my worth? What resources did I come in with? How do I develop and use them? For Taurus, the idea of resources are broad. It includes finances, but extends beyond that to values, talents, and support networks.
Out of balance Taurus energy looks to "stuff" to create self worth and security. It focuses on the external in order to fill the internal. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't work.
This New Moon is a wonderful time to revisit your values. What is important to you? There are lists of core values available, things like honesty, courage, respect, or kindness, for example. There is little controversial about them, most of us agree these are desirable. It can be clarifying to take some time and decide which are most important to you. You will know because they will be the ones you would never violate. They are your bright lines; your guideposts. Core values offer a structure around which to build your life, which is very relevant in Taurus season. How do you demonstrate your values with your actions? What talents have you been investing in? Have you been consistent in doing so?

Here is your opportunity to take action on this awareness to create new realities. What are you building for yourself? Do you still want it? On what does your sense of security rest? Security is a big theme for the Bull. Practical demands of life need to be accounted for. Taurus appreciates stability. It will stay in a situation long past the expiration date because the thought of change is so uncomfortable. Such is the energy of a fixed sign. However, Uranus the disruptor so close to the Sun and Moon can override much of the resistance to making changes. Perhaps it is time to trust yourself and make the leap.
