Full Moon in Scorpio ⋆ 4.23.24
Tuesday evening at around 7:46 PM (EDT) the Sun will be at 4 degrees Taurus opposite the Moon at 4 degrees Scorpio, forming a Full Moon. The Taurus - Scorpio axis deals with security, resources, and values (Taurus) and how we share them intimately with our significant others (Scorpio).
We are shifting out of Aries - Libra themes of individuality and partnerships. We had opportunities to explore who we were as our unique selves and how our close connections reflected both our dark and bright shadows; our disowned aspects of ourselves. Since we are unaware of them, we don't recognize them within ourselves. Instead, we tend to attract partners and close relationships that allow us to experience them.
As we move to the Taurus - Scorpio axis, it's time to apply the self-awareness gained under the Aries - Libra eclipses. How are we demonstrating our values? How do we cultivate and grow our resources? How do we manage obligations to important others? Is there willingness to be vulnerable; to be seen fully in your intimate relationships? Is the emotional load shared or is it unbalanced, with one placating the other, or holding back in some way? This speaks to the theme of security that is so important to Taurus energy. What has your security been tied to and is it appropriate?
Taurus is the fixed earth sign. It values stability and comfort. All earth signs experience life through physical sensations. Taurus energy dislikes drama and uncertainty. Those things take too much effort. Taurus energy does not mind expending energy to build something lasting, but it does best at an easy pace and in a way that offers the most peace.
Scorpio is fixed water. It experiences life through emotions. Scorpio energy feels things deeply and this can be overwhelming. That is why Scorpio energy can react by trying to control external conditions. The illusion of control offers the illusion of security. The less one shares about their true self, the safer it feels. Scorpio will deflect and cover up true feelings because vulnerability is risky.
Under this Full Moon, these two aspects, which we all have to a greater or lesser extent, need to be brought into balance. How much do we share with a partner? Can we deal with the discomfort of our vulnerability? Are we willing to share our feelings so we can build a stable, supportive relationship? Can we openly demonstrate our values? What resources do we contribute to our relationships?
The Sun and Moon are being challenged by Pluto at 2 degrees Aquarius. This forms a T-square. Pluto is Scorpio's ruler, so its influence here is amplified. Pluto will show us the disempowering patterns of self-sabotage that undermine the sense of security that we so desire. It will clearly show if we are focused on empowerment or control. Remember, Full Moons bring things to the light of consciousness. The challenge is to accept the awareness and choose differently.
Pluto in Aquarius brings transformation and innovation to our vision for the future. In addition to our closer relationships the way we interact with our chosen groups of friends and colleagues is on tap. Do we honor our true feelings and share them openly? Can we stop trying to control/micromanage relationships in the misguided attempt to create a sense of security? True security comes when we accept and revel in our authentic self.
As has been mentioned many times in these posts, the way to work with a T-square is to explore the qualities of the sign opposite the planet doing the squaring. Here, Pluto in Aquarius is the focal planet. The sign opposite Aquarius is Leo. Accessing your Leo energy will help navigate this Full Moon. Leo is guided by a moral code of ethics. It's time to align with yours. Leo energy is warm, inviting, generous, inclusive and fun to be around. Leo accepts its inner light and shines it brightly. Realized Leo energy takes the values developed in Taurus and creates environments where others can shine. Leo does not compete. Because it fully accepts its inherent power, it does not feel diminished by recognizing the power of others. It is able to join with others in community and contribute in its unique way to the shared vision for a better world.
Consider what lights you up. What are you here to contribute? Does your commitment to your comfort (Taurus) or your resistance to being fully seen (Scorpio) keep you out of the game? Can you let yourself shine? What are you creating for yourself? What do you want to create?
