Full Moon in Virgo ⋆ 2.24.24
Saturday morning at 7:30 the Moon at 5 degrees of Virgo will be opposite the Sun at 5 degrees of Pisces, forming a Full Moon. Full Moons bring things into the light of consciousness. Virgo - Pisces axis themes include being of service to the greater good and using creative expression to be the artist of your life while managing details of daily responsibilities.
Pisces is the mutable water sign and the last sign of the zodiac. When the Sun makes its annual entrance into Pisces, it has traversed all the other signs and gathered the wisdom each one offers. It has viewed life through the lens of each of the other signs. In Pisces, it is time to synthesize all these different experiences and integrate them into a more complete picture of the world. As a water sign, Pisces experiences life through the emotions. Because it is a mutable sign, it is dialed into the collective and the emotions happening within it. Pisces is deeply aware of the connection to something larger, the spiritual side of life. Inspired ideas come from this connection. The recognition that we are all part of something greater than any one of us is central to Pisces energy. The potential to get swept away by the dreams imagined and escape to castles in the air is an unbalanced expression of Pisces.
On the other end of the spectrum is Virgo. Virgo is the mutable earth sign. It is practical, organized, and detail oriented. Virgo wants to make the systems of life run more efficiently. The focus is on the task. In an unbalanced expression, Virgo energy can become engrossed in the finer points of the process and lose sight of the big picture. It can become overly concerned about getting it right and default into a quest for perfectionism. This can lead to second guessing, over analyzing, and criticism of self and others.
When they are balanced, Virgo offers Pisces a way to manifest dreams and creativity in the material world. Pisces offers Virgo access to a bigger picture. Both are concerned with using their energy to be of service. The complementary expression of the two allows this service to be offered in ways that do not deplete either.
Do you allow yourself to dream; to explore a connection to the vast creative capacity within you? Do you worry about making mistakes so much you find yourself in analysis paralysis? How do you react to the possibility of failure? Are you caught up in the quest for perfection? Does that result in anxiety and avoidance of anything "risky"? What are your imaginings and dreams telling you? How are you responding?
The Sun is joined in Pisces by Mercury at 2 degrees and Saturn at 9 degrees. How are you talking about your dreams? What are your thoughts about your connection to something greater? To your own spirituality? Do you trust the information you receive from these sources? With Saturn here, consider your self talk as well. Are you a critic or a coach when it comes to your creative expression? Saturn can encourage a realistic approach to bringing forth your ideas, or it can be the harsh judge that shuts you down and turns you into a disempowered victim before you start.
With Moon in Virgo, there is a risk of feeling like you have to earn the right to be loved. You can only be deemed worthy if you do good. If this is your template, it's time to call in your self compassion. If you have been driving yourself to complete the to do list, this is a time to ease off the gas and take a break. Use this opportunity to organize your work space and remove clutter from your home. Neither Virgo nor Pisces does well in an atmosphere of disarray.
Awareness of imbalances within the body are also likely to come up. Virgo energy often experiences digestive upsets when out of kilter. Pisces energy can escape into daydreams, sometimes with the assistance of alcohol or drugs, and leave awareness of the body behind. What is your way of addressing life when it feels overwhelming or chaotic? Make your space as peaceful as possible. Sit down for meals. Do not work, watch TV, or play on your phone. Turn on some pleasant music and take a few deep breaths before sitting down to eat. Get to bed early a few nights. Hydrate with water and decrease the sugar you consume. These practical interventions can make a huge difference and bring you back into relationship with your body.
Consider anything you might have initiated during the Virgo New Moon in mid-September. These things will be reaching a turning point now. You might need to make some revisions.
We are about halfway through the period of all planets in direct motion. There will be no retrogrades until April 1. While that forward momentum is wonderful, this weekend make time to pause and explore your internal world. Spend some time in your own company and engage with your spirit and your dreams. Be curious and open. Can you adjust your routines so they are more efficient and free up time? Where are you experiencing the curse of perfectionism and the related anxiety about making a mistake? Under what circumstances might you default into playing the victim or martyr? How can you empower yourself? What are 1 or 2 small things you can commit to that will nourish your body and spirit?
"There is always going to be a reason why you can't do something; your job is to constantly look for the reasons why you can achieve your dreams." ~Shannon Miller
