New Moon in Scorpio ⋆ 11.13.23
We are more than halfway through Scorpio season. I always find it interesting when the New Moon falls in the middle of a sign's time hosting the Sun. Of course, there is no reason why lunation cycles (New and Full Moons) and solar cycles (the Sun moving through each sign in turn) should synch up; they are on different timelines. The Sun and Moon also deal with different aspects of the self. The Sun is your inner fire, your purpose, what you are here to do in your particular way. The Moon is usually less "in your face". It is what is below the surface, still influencing your unique expression, but on a more subtle level. It deals with feelings and emotional needs. New Moons, whenever they occur, are opportunities to integrate both the inner emotions and their outer expression. (If the technicalities of astrology make your head hurt, skip this next part and go directly to the interpretation. Also, check the video which will show the chart so the interrelationships are easier to see.)
This New Moon, in particular, comes with a lot of opportunities because it is connected to a number of planets:
1) The Sun and Moon at 20 degrees of Scorpio are conjuncting (blending) with Mars at 22 degrees Scorpio.
2) The Sun/Moon and Mars are opposite Uranus at 21 degrees of Taurus.
3) Uranus is forming a trine (easy aspect) to Pluto at 28 Capricorn
4) The Sun/Moon and Mars are forming a trine to Neptune at 25 degrees of Pisces.
5) All of these aspects combine to form a major aspect known as a cradle. In a cradle, at least 4 planets are connected at 60 degree intervals (forming sextiles) with the planets at each end in an opposition. Sextiles (60 degrees) bring opportunity, but they do not fall in your lap. There is some action or effort required to realize the benefits. Oppositions require balancing of two complementary energies. There is a lot going on here, but you have been preparing for all of it.
Because this New Moon is in Scorpio, it becomes the dominant sign. The overarching themes of Scorpio are security and resources; how one develops and shares them to establish an internal sense of worthiness and from there, create intimacy in important relationships. Also involved here are how each expresses values in the material world (Taurus) and, in clarifying and demonstrating them, empowers themselves to create their desired outcomes (Mars in Scorpio).
Balancing the desire for freedom (Uranus) with the desire for connection (Sun/Moon in Scorpio) requires recognition of the need to release (Scorpio) comfortable habits and conditions (Taurus) that are keeping you stuck.
This New Moon also brings the ability to transform structures/foundations in your life (Pluto in Capricorn) to express your values and individuality in increasingly authentic ways (Uranus in Taurus).
Desires are strong with the Sun/Moon/Mars in Scorpio. They bring an undeniable awareness of purpose and a merging of conscious drives and emotional needs that combine to show the path towards creating your dreams (Neptune in Pisces).
These aspects open the opportunities to transform all the creative endeavors that you have left on the vine into viable options. Perhaps these ideas were abandoned and left untended because of fear or judgment. Do you have a dream or vision for yourself which you have dismissed as impractical? Perhaps you became overwhelmed at the prospect of implementing this dream due to the sheer enormity of the the vision you have for yourself.
The old programming is likely to be yammering about all the reasons why you can't possibly do the thing that you are being called towards. Under this New Moon, there is a potential to expand how you conceive and perceive information. You can choose to parrot the old critical voice, or you can shift to viewing it as showing you where practical concerns must be addressed in order to have the best chance of moving forward.
A change in approach is needed. Before you give in to the critic's concerns, pause a moment. Recognize that this energy expression is actually giving you insights into creating your dream in practical and sustainable ways. It is not trying to dismiss your dream, only to show you where you need to target your efforts. It's time to explore new pathways so our dreams and inner knowings are honored and accessible. Consider what you might be prematurely dismissing. What are you afraid to explore? There are a thousand ways up the mountain. Are you denying yourself available potentials?
There is no sign as determined as Scorpio, nor as perceptive, intuitive and transformative, especially when coupled with all these other energies. With this New Moon, opportunities to explore, expand, transform and create abound, but they require the desire to move out of the tried and true; to step into the unknown and trust in the inner wisdom you have to guide you to your heart's calling.
