Full Moon in Gemini ⋆ 11.7.23
Early Monday morning we will have a Full Moon in Gemini as the Sun at approximately 5 degrees of Sagittarius will be opposite the Moon at 5 degrees of Gemini. Gemini and Sagittarius are social signs. Their energy is of interaction with others, usually groups. Moon in Gemini is a good placement for exploring how you communicate your emotional needs and feelings and how you share your feelings with others as a basis for connection.
Mars is at 2 degrees of Sagittarius, forming a conjunction with the Sun. In a conjunction, the energies of the planets involved are blended. With Mars here, the Sun's already potent expression is amplified. Sagittarius wants to push established boundaries, not in a rebellious way like Aquarius, but because Sagittarius desires to grow and expand its understanding of life. Sagittarius is concerned with the big picture - ethics, morals, and philosophy that underlies the way things work. Gemini likes to know how things work; it does not have the patience for a deep dive. Sagittarius is driven to understand the deeper forces at play. The Mars influence here can express as self absorption. It can give the illusion that your truth is the only truth; your beliefs are the only "right" ones. Mars here can make you aggressive in advocating for your point of view. Sagittarius can be quite dogmatic for a mutable sign! It can become attached to its preferred paradigm. Instead of exploring new perspectives (the higher energy expression), it digs in and explores all the reasons it is correct in its assessment of whatever situation it focuses on. (the lower energy expression). On the other hand, if you find it challenging to express your beliefs or stand by your moral compass, this Mars energy can support you asserting yourself and honoring your ethical foundation.
Full Moons are oppositions between the Sun and Moon, and oppositions always show the need for balance. This Full Moon is bringing the need to balance your beliefs and desire for growth (Sun in Sagittarius) with the need for social connection (Moon in Gemini). Saturn at 0 degrees of Pisces is forming a T square with the Sun/Mars and Moon. Saturn in Pisces brings a reality check to your dreams. On the one hand, Saturn can be a harsh critic which can cause many to feel constricted and overwhelmed. But, Saturn energy wants us to bring the best of ourselves to each task. Saturn is trying to be the coach, not the critic. It is forcing us to account for limits we will face as part of living on this planet. Saturn's goal is to make sure we are as prepared as possible for any challenges we might face as we manifest our dreams and achieve our goals. As Saturn moves through dreamy, artistic, creative Pisces for the next few years, it will encourage us to define our highest vision for ourselves and begin to lay the foundation needed to manifest it. Saturn expects you to show up for your life rather than wait to be rescued or escape to a fantasy world (lower Pisces energy expressions). With Saturn in Pisces, you have the potential to make your ideal real. How cool is that?!
As the focal planet in the T square, Saturn is challenging your beliefs and moral code to align with your need to be part of a connected social network. Gemini energy brings people together; Sagittarius energy explores how they can learn and grow from each other, bringing different viewpoints into account. Pisces energy adds to this mix by recognizing the connection to something larger than ourselves. It adds the spiritual dimension.
As has been pointed out many times, the way to work with the challenge of the T square is to direct attention to expressing the energy of the sign opposite the sign of the focal planet (i.e., the one squaring the others). Here, the focal planet is Saturn in Pisces. The sign opposite Pisces is Virgo. Bringing in Virgo energy offers an outlet for the competing energies of the square.
Virgo is a practical sign with a strong desire to improve the way things are done. It is concerned with improvements in efficiency and making things run more smoothly. Accessing Virgo energy means look for small ways to improve a situation or relationship. It can take the form of prioritizing tasks rather than trying to do everything. Virgo needs a calm and organized environment in order to feel its best. Perhaps your space needs a declutter. This energy is deliberate and intentional. Are you moving at a pace that is sustainable? Are you just trying to get it all done? Is your energy scattered? Chaotic? Are you chugging through tasks without considering if those tasks are worth your time? Do your efforts align with your beliefs? Hint: look to see how you feel after working on something for a while. Are you fulfilled? Pleased? If not, it's a call to look deeper at why you are doing what you are doing and at a minimum, entertain alternative approaches or perspectives.
This Full Moon will bring things to light, and the T square will make you uncomfortable and frustrated in order to direct your attention towards what is in need of change. Can you choose to observe what you are being shown from a neutral stance? Can you use this information as data, and avoid making it into a story that reinforces what is not working and keeps you stuck? Get clear on what you really want and why. Let these energies guide you as to how to make it happen.
Heads up that Mercury will be going retrograde for the final time on December 13. Take this time to prepare by addressing any maintenance issues with your technology and transportation.
