Lunar Eclipse in Taurus ⋆ 10.28.23
On November 19, 2021 we started off this series of eclipses in Taurus - Scorpio. Eclipse series last for about 18 months, with usually 5 to 6 eclipses occurring during that time. We are given the opportunity to explore themes related to the axis involved, and of course, where those signs and points fall in our individual charts will determine what areas of life are likely to be affected.
The eclipses are now shifting to the Aries - Libra axis. It started with a Solar Eclipse at the last degree of Aries in April. The second, a Solar Eclipse in Libra, was 2 weeks ago. The next set of eclipses on this axis will be in the spring of 2024.
Under the Taurus - Scorpio cycle, the focus has been on security, possessions, values, finances, and resources. Taurus pertains to what we, as individuals, bring to the table. Scorpio is how we share ourselves and our possessions with important others to develop and solidify intimacy. With this Lunar Eclipse, it is time to apply the insights gained during this eclipse cycle.
Lunar eclipses are powerful Full Moons. Full Moons bring things to light and this one is very much about expressing and acting on the insights gained since November 2021. The Sun at 5 degrees of Scorpio is illuminating the Moon at 5 degrees of Taurus. When the Moon is in Taurus, the body's response to emotions is emphasized. It's a great time to check in with your body to see if you are clenching or tightening anywhere. How relaxed are your shoulders? Your jaw? Are you at ease in your body? Are you taking deep full breaths or are you sipping air? How do you react physically to feeling vulnerable? Might you be holding yourself back or refusing to own your feelings?
With Sun in Scorpio, transformation and empowerment are on tap. It is time to release the old sabotaging patterns. This was brought up all summer with the Mercury and Venus retrogrades, as well as with the Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14. This eclipse is a threshold of sorts, calling you to step forward and embody your highest expression.
Both Mercury (the way you process information and communicate) and Mars (the way you act physically and express your desires) are joined with the Sun at 10 and 11 degrees of Scorpio, respectively. This shows a synching up of thoughts, words (Mercury), and deeds (Mars) with the consciousness and sense of purpose (Sun).
The Moon is joined by Jupiter at 11 degrees of Taurus and they are both opposite the Sun/Mercury/Mars triad. The energy of the Sun/Mercury/Mars needs to be balanced (oppositions are always about balance) with the emotional needs (Moon) and the motivation to expand how we use our time and treasure to support our wellbeing. The point is to explore and grow the ways in which we resource ourselves (Jupiter). Simply, it is time to step up and show up as our vision of our best selves and take responsibility for how we do so. When we empower ourselves to acknowledge and meet our needs, we don't dim down for fear that our authentic selves will be somehow unacceptable. We honor ourselves and our important others in relationships. This is the theme of the Aries - Libra eclipse cycle we are transitioning to.
Supporting this is a beautiful relationship between Uranus at 21 Taurus, Pluto at 27 Capricorn, and Venus at 18 Virgo. These three are forming a lovely aspect known as a Grand Trine. Their energies are flowing and working together to transform (Pluto) the way we relate to others and express our values (Venus) in unique ways that free us from old, stale, and outgrown patterns (Uranus). The signs involved here are all earth signs, so these energies will show up in practical ways that can be applied to the "real world". If you have been hesitant to make the changes you are being called to make, this is your moment. Trust yourself enough to step through the doorway into your vision for yourself.
