New Moon in Scorpio 11*20*25

The New Moon in Scorpio early Thursday morning is directing its energy towards our emotions. There are seven planets in water signs! Water signs experience the world through feelings. What emotions are surfacing for you? Are you allowing them to rise into your awareness? Are you recognizing your patterns of dealing with them (or perhaps not dealing with them)? This New Moon is an opportunity to explore how you navigate the currents of your emotional life, how your personal power is impacted, and how it all affects your close relationships.

Early tomorrow morning the Sun and Moon will form the New Moon at 28 degrees of Scorpio. They will exactly conjunct Mercury, still retrograde, also at 28 degrees of Scorpio. Mercury is the planet of how we communicate and how we receive information, especially information with applicability to daily life. It has been retrograding through Sagittarius, giving us opportunities to reevaluate our beliefs and moral code as well as how we approach new possibilities and expanded perspectives. Now it has retreated back to Scorpio. The focus takes the insights obtained in Sagittarius and applies them to creating intimacy with our important others. The Mercury energy has shifted from the inspiration of a fire sign to the emotional realities of a water sign. What is your tolerance for vulnerability? Are you willing to show up and be seen fully? Can you sit with discomfort, i.e., uncomfortable emotions, or do you look for the exit? Scorpio also deals with lineage, things that come to you through others. Are there inherited patterns that you are continuing to the detriment of your relationships?  Are you willing to make a change? Investigate different approaches?

The Taurus Full Moon on November 5 revealed where we were investing in familiarity and comfort rather than the security that comes from true empowerment. What have you been shown about how you use your resources to create lasting value for yourself?

Scorpio wants intimate connection. It wants to know itself and its important others at a soul level. It understands this requires being in close relationships. But relationships are mirrors, showing us the quality of our energy as reflected in our partners and important others. Scorpio's dilemma is craving deep connection while also fearing rejection that might result if they are fully transparent. Lower expression of this energy results in control dramas, where Scorpio strives to feel safe by deflecting, avoiding, hiding, and at times, manipulating. Self-protection is the priority. Alternatively, when Scorpio energy expresses from a foundation of self-acceptance and self-trust, it is empowered. This energy is not afraid of vulnerability. This transformation requires recognition of those emotions that have been ignored, suppressed or denied. It requires the willingness to break old patterns that, while comfortable and familiar, are undermining the security that comes from anchoring to one's power and being able to make authentic connections.

Right now, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus are all retrograding back into the signs that they are leaving, making one final stop to allow us to tie up any loose ends before they all shift into their new signs for the next 2.5 years (Saturn), 7 years (Uranus), and 14 years (Neptune). Because these planets move slowly, when they change signs it is a big deal. That they are all changing signs in a short period of time is a big deal. These are cycles that have not synched up before in recorded history. We are on the threshold of brand new energy. But before we can fully access it, we need to close out the past. We can't bring old energy forward into new times. That is why these planets are making a final pass, urging us to let go of any behaviors, beliefs, and patterns that are stale and keep us stuck in past conditions that we have outgrown. Accepting that there are things we need to release to move forward can be challenging. We are being given strong evidence of how our old stories are perpetuating conditions that are increasingly uncomfortable. It's time to learn new ways of managing emotions. It's time to change.

Luckily, we are being supported in this. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are forming easy aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer. This is a Grand Water Trine. So, while emotions might be all around, the trine is helping them flow and allowing us to become aware of them in a gentle way. The key with this is to realize what is happening; to be tuned into your feelings and to be willing to sit with them and fully experience them, even the uncomfortable ones. Grand Water Trines are about flow. Are you able to stop resisting the discomfort of "feeling" and instead, trust the insights you receive when you stop trying to "figure it out" or "make it make sense."? Those are air sign strategies. They won't work in this watery environment. Water energy simply requires we be present, receptive, and trust in our innate buoyancy. It's important to keep the focus internal, to refamiliarize ourselves with our inner landscape, rather than searching for meaning or validation externally.

Grand Trines are supportive, but it can be difficult to take action when they are involved. Not here, though. Uranus, making its final pass through Taurus before moving into Gemini next April, is opposing the Sun, Moon and Mercury. Uranus brings disruption, but also the desire to break free of any limits or restrictions. Its opposition to the New Moon is galvanizing action, but it is also making helpful connections with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer, bringing opportunities to make changes that enhance our sense of security (Taurus). The thing is, you have to take advantage of the opportunities presented. There is some effort needed.

It's not random that Scorpio season, at least in our hemisphere, coincides with the gradual lessening of light as we move towards the winter solstice. It is in the dark that things start to grow. Seeds germinate underground, caterpillars transform to butterflies in the darkness of the cocoon, and the dreams of a new project or creative endeavor start within. Are you willing to explore your own inner landscape? Can you spend some time in the unknown, the darkness, the space of possibility? Start by considering what is asking to shift within you? What wants to be born through you? What energy do you want to bring into the next cycle that starts in 2026? What is getting in the way of its easy flow? What needs to be completed or released so you can move forward? Remember,  this is about you. Focusing on others, even important others, will distract from your work. It's so much easier to deal with someone else's concerns than to sit with our own stuff. But that is not what is called for now; this is not the time to focus on anyone other than yourself.

Mercury will be retrograde until November 29. Take your time in the days right before and after as it slows down to change direction. That is when the energies are most challenging. Use deep breaths, build in extra time, commit to self-care, self-care, self-care.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for each of you and your willingness to spend your precious time with me through these posts. I truly hope you find them helpful.
