Jupiter in Gemini ⋆ May '24 - June '25
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, falling between Mars and Saturn. It spends 12-14 months in each sign. In older astrology texts it is known as "The Greater Benefic", thought to bring good fortune and good times to people as it interacted with their birth charts. In actuality, Jupiter is a neutral amplifier. It brings more of whatever it interacts with. For example, if Jupiter is passing through the area of your chart dealing with your work it will bring more work. This might be great or it can be overwhelming. It really depends on your perspective, goals and stage of life.
In May, 2023, Jupiter entered Taurus. Taurus is the fixed earth sign, concerned with practical realities and experiencing things in the physical. It brought emphasis to possessions, resources, finances. On a macro level the economy reflected both a rising stock market according to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, as well as rising prices. How it affected each person on an individual level depends on where Taurus is in the birth chart and what else was being activated by Jupiter as it moved through the degrees of Taurus.
The end of May Jupiter moved into Gemini, the mutable air sign. Gemini is a social sign which connects through sharing information and discussing things. It is a quick moving energy. Gemini likes to learn things and know things, but not on a deep philosophical or belief driven level. Information is currency and it is used to make small talk or allow us to maintain those relationships that are passing and convenient. Gemini appreciates lots of interactions with everyone around. Gemini energy will have a conversation with someone on the train or in line waiting for a coffee. It moves easily within many different groups. At times, in the quest to share information and build connection, the truth might be a casualty. Gemini will often spin information in a way that suits its purposes or through its particular lens. We all have some Gemini somewhere; we all do this.
On a macro level, Jupiter in Gemini will be a time of lots of information being communicated in lots of ways. It doesn't mean the information is accurate or even useful. Jupiter amplifies. In Gemini, it amplifies communication and information. How it is received and used is an individual choice.
Jupiter in Gemini is an excellent time to hone your skills at doing your own research, trusting your own inner guidance, and coming to your own conclusions about things rather than regurgitating sound bites. Consider whose agenda is being served by the information offered.
It is also an excellent time to prioritize connection and socialization on a broad scale, rather than living in an echo chamber or silo. Gemini is a flexible, curious sign. It is willing to explore and entertain multiple points of view. Jupiter in Gemini brings opportunities to build bridges towards diverse groups, recognizing we are all part of a community of humans and we do better when we extend open hands rather than clenched fists.
