Full Moon in Capricorn * 7.21.24
This Full Moon is an astrological Blue Moon. If a month has 2 Full Moons, the second is known as a Blue Moon. They are infrequent, happening about once a year. While this is the only Full Moon in July, it is the second Full Moon in Capricorn. On June 21 we had a Full Moon at 1 degree of Capricorn, the beginning of the sign. Sunday's lunation is at the final degree of the sign. The final degree of any sign is considered to be especially potent. It is a time of transition. One part of the journey is completed. It's time for reflecting on what was and preparing for what is coming.
On Sunday morning, the Sun at 29 degrees of Cancer will be opposite the Moon at 29 degrees of Capricorn. The Cancer - Capricorn axis deals with the balance between what is visible and what is invisible. Cancer is the cardinal water sign, experiencing life through the emotions. Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign, practical and focused on experiencing life through the material. Cancer is the roots, (below the surface, invisible) concerned with nourishing the self and providing support. For many, a good portion of Cancer energy lives in the unconscious. This is especially true when when uncomfortable emotions are not fully addressed or processed and instead get stuck.
Capricorn is the fruit (visible) that comes from Cancer's roots (invisible). Capricorn is the experience of the goal achieved. Capricorn is also the experience of showing up as your best self. That version of you that is wise, capable, and strategic. In the natural chart, Capricorn is noon, when the Sun is at its highest and nothing casts a shadow. There is no place to hide; everything is out in the open for good or for ill. That version of yourself is not sustainable unless you nourish yourself appropriately. Cancer is responsible for creating the space to take care of yourself. Your best self is not accessible if you are tired, hungry, lonely, sad - in short, if your needs are not met.
When Moon is in Capricorn, consider how thinking about your goals make you feel - expansive and excited or overwhelmed and constricted? Is your heart in your dreams? If not, what needs to end so you can move towards the thing that does stir your soul?
Full Moons bring things to light. The Moon at 29 degrees of Capricorn is conjunct Pluto at 0 degrees of Aquarius. Even though it is an out of sign conjunction, the energy here is powerful. Capricorn energy generally likes rules, but Aquarius energy loathes them and is inclined to rebel against them. Pluto is about transformation and self empowerment. In Aquarius, the focus is on innovation and authentic, although often unconventional, expression. You need a new approach. Confusing self-empowerment with trying to control relationships, situations, or events will keep you stuck and limited.
Instead, consider how you are feeding your roots. Are you doing too much? Are you eating and drinking and sleeping well? Are you hanging out with people who uplift you? Are you giving yourself downtime to rest and replete or are you just distracting yourself? How consistently do you demonstrate the value in which you hold yourself? If you are writing IOUs to yourself in order to 'get it all done', this Full Moon will show you. It is about your inherent, internal value, not how much validation you can accumulate by contributing to someone else's agenda. It's time to revise feeling like you need to earn your rest or fun.
How does the best version of yourself speak, act and move through the world? Do your choices and behaviors accurately demonstrate your values? This is a creative Full Moon. Neptune at 29 degrees of Pisces is making supportive connections to both the Sun and Moon. Trust your inner guidance, that small voice that we tend to talk over or dismiss. Neptune will amplify it through your dreams.
Capricorn energy manifests. Do you want what you are manifesting for yourself? If not, it's time to accept what you are being shown, make peace with it, and try something new. Also, think about what came up for you under the first Capricorn Full Moon in June and the recent Cancer New Moon on July 5? All of these lunations are connected.
A head's up that Mercury is entering its shadow phase and will go retrograde on August 5. Attend to any vehicle, communication, or tech maintenance concerns now.
