Full Moon in Libra 4*1*26
It may be April Fools Day, but the astrology of April is no joke. In about 12 hours, roughly 10 pm (EDT) tonight, we have a Full Moon in Libra. The Sun at 12 degrees of Aries will be opposite the Moon at 12 degrees of Libra.
The Sun is our core purpose, how we share our light. It is the energy of self expression - what we are here to do in our unique way.
The Moon shows our emotional needs; what we need to feel safe, nurtured and cared for. It is how we take care of ourselves and how we show our care to others.
During a Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are directly opposite each other. In astrology, opposite signs are complementary not competing. The challenge of all Full Moons is to balance the expression of the Sun in whatever sign it is in with the expression of the Moon in the sign opposite.
Every year, we have a full moon in Libra around the time of the Spring equinox. The Sun's light shines on the Moon, illuminating things that were in the shadows, in the unconscious, and bringing them into the light of conscious awareness to be seen and addressed as needed.
At the Spring equinox, the Sun moves into Aries and starts a new cycle through the zodiac. This year both Saturn and Neptune moved into Aries prior to the equinox. Saturn hasn't been in Aries since 1997, and the last time Neptune was in Aries was in the mid 1800s. They met at 0 degrees of Aries on February 20. This was a very big deal. Check out this post for a review of it. https://mwastrology.squarespace.com/config/pages/6696a8c51bc41529ae664993
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is the cardinal fire sign. Aries is the individuation from the whole; the wave that forms from the ocean. Aries energy is independent. It is pioneering, here to explore the world and to make its mark. Aries energy is passionate, independent, idealistic, and enthusiastic. It can't wait to do all the things. And each experience Aries has helps it know itself a little more. In the course of life, Aries decides what it likes and what it doesn't. It winnows down interests and refines priorities. It gets to know itself as it takes the actions to fulfill its desires.
The Sun has already met up with Neptune and Saturn in Aries on its way to this Full Moon. Neptune is the planet of our spirituality, our soul wisdom. In Aries, spirituality is personalized. Neptune in Aries is the opportunity to integrate our spirit into our individual expression. Saturn is the planet of structure, limits and practical realities. In Aries, Saturn stands for individual accountability and responsibility. Neptune brings the dream of what could be. In idealistic Aries, the Sun can get caught up in the forward momentum and become overconfident. Saturn wants the details. It says, "Beautiful dream. Very lovely. But have you considered this? What about that? What is it going to take to make this dream a reality?" Because Aries is great at starting things, but not so great at completing them once the details get demanding, Saturn also wants to know "Are you committed enough to see it through?"
What are you dreaming of creating in your life? How are you going to incorporate those things that really light you up, that inspire you, into your life? What would your life look like if you truly gave your spirit an equal place with your mind and body? Are you willing to commit to this level of growth?
On the other end of the continuum is the Moon in Libra. The Aries - Libra axis deals with the self (Aries) and how it interacts with significant others in relationships. (Libra). Moon in Libra reminds Aries that there are others to take into account. As much as Aries prizes independence, Libra understands the importance of relationships. Our important others are mirrors that allow us to see aspects of ourselves that we don't have access to. The qualities in another that we appreciate or dislike offer important information about ourselves. Can you respect another's perspective? Can you collaborate and compromise without losing yourself or asking the other to deny themselves? Can you honor the relationship as an entity, deserving consideration? This is the balance being asked for under this Full Moon. Have I embodied my sense of self so I can now share my wholeness with another? Do I have the capacity in my life to include you?
Jupiter at 15 degrees of Cancer is challenging the Sun and Moon, forming a T square. Jupiter brings more of whatever it is involved with. It has been in Cancer since last June and will remain there through June of this year. Jupiter in Cancer has expanded the desire to take care of ourselves, to nurture ourselves and those we care about. It has amplified the desire to feel safe and secure. Jupiter has brought the desire for a sacred space, somewhere that we can retreat to so we can rest and replete.
Jupiter also represents morality and ethics. It has a strong sense of justice. Are you being fair to yourself and your important others? Do you honor your needs? Do you honor their needs? How do you cultivate a safe haven for yourself? Can you co-create such a space with your important others? Will you weave care into your daily life? Use it to create sacred space for yourself and your partners? Can you be care-full with those others you meet as you move through your day?
Because this is a challenging aspect, expect some tension between how you take care of yourself and what you feel is required of you in relationship. What is required is a shift in perspective that leads to a different approach. Bring in Capricorn energy. Get practical, decide what matters and prioritize it. Capricorn energy avoids drama and extremes. It is realistic and plays the long game. Capricorn energy focuses efforts on the goal. Choose well and let the unimportant issues fall away. And Capricorn is big on accountability and reliability. Follow through is critical. Do what you say you'll do when you say you'll do it. This goes for promises you make to yourself as well as your important others.
Also under this Full Moon, Venus, planet of what we value and how we connect with others is at 2 degrees of Taurus and is challenging Pluto at 5 degrees of Aquarius. Venus is at home in Taurus. Venus in Taurus wants to be comfortable. She appreciates tranquility and consistency. Venus in Taurus is a sensual placement. The environment has to feel welcoming and peaceful. Physical needs must be met. Venus in Taurus takes her time. No rushing, no big exertion of effort. Venus in Taurus can be a bit lazy.
Pluto in Aquarius is focused on collaboration and cooperation with others to create a new world. Pluto expects each to show up as empowered contributors, offering their unique talents to the whole. It is here to innovate and foster change. Venus in Taurus does not like change. They are at cross purposes and neither is particularly flexible, since Taurus and Aquarius are both fixed signs. Still, it can be helpful to consider what you truly need to feel stable and secure. Are your possessions adding to your life or are they time/energy parasites? Is it time to free yourself of things you have outgrown? Are you resisting the need to make some changes even when you know they are overdue? Where might you be outsourcing your sense of power? Are you relying on external conditions to affirm your worth? What unique gifts are yours to develop and share? What is getting in the way of this?
Right now, all planets are in direct motion until May 6. Nothing is retrograde. This is a window of forward momentum, and as we move into April, first Mars then Mercury will be moving into Aries, amplifying the energy of taking action. By the time of the New Moon in Aries on April 17, there will be an unprecedented 7 planets in Aries. That is a lot of Aries energy. Take this time to decide how you want to direct it. What do you want to create in your life? What resources do you need? Are they available? How will you support bringing your dream into reality? This is a time to suspend your disbelief and access that Aries confidence and optimism that is available to all of us. You did not come this far to only come this far.
