New Moon in Gemini ⋆ 6.18.23
We have a New Moon in Gemini just after midnight on June 18, 2023. The Sun and Moon join at 26 degrees of Gemini, starting a new cycle which highlights the Gemini themes of communication, connection, and sharing information.
Gemini is the mutable air sign. As an air sign, it experiences life via ideas. Air signs are conceptualizers. Gemini enjoys learning about lots of different things, and sharing the information gathered with lots of different people. Gemini energy thrives on this exchange. Upleveled Gemini energy loves to discuss pretty much any topic as long as it has some familiarity with it. Lower expression Gemini is not above taking creative license rather than be seen as uninformed.
At the Full Moon on 6.3, we were shown (Full Moons bring things to light) ways that we could transcend differences and choose to connect with others by suspending judgement and reaching out with curiosity. That Full Moon encouraged us to lighten up and approach others with an open, friendly attitude. It was an doorway to value connection more than debate or "being right."
Now we have an opportunity to incorporate the insight gained under the Full Moon into our social interactions in earnest. Gemini energy is curious. It likes to explore and expand, consider and communicate. Gemini likes to connect the dots about how things work. It likes knowing things.
How do you share what you know with others? Are you willing to be in an exchange, or do you feel the need to prove you are the smartest kid in the room? Why? Are you willing to learn from others? How hard is it for you to admit you don't know something? What actions do you take when you don't know something?
Neptune, planet of creativity and connection to higher wisdom and divine expression, is making a square to the Sun and Moon here. Squares are challenging aspects. They bring frustration as the energies of the planets involved do not flow well. Neptune does not come from a place of curiosity. Neptune comes from a place of knowing. Neptune's perspective is from the deeper connection we all share. It comes from the awareness that we are all sparks of the divine having a variety of experiences in this world.
That is why Neptune energy does not express well in the 3D world. It can find it too harsh and try to escape, often through mind altering substances or all consuming distractions. It can refuse to acknowledge red flags and pitfalls. Neptune is good at pretending things are fine when they are not. It can easily take on the role of victim or martyr. Often with Neptune in challenging aspect, there is an element of delusion or inaccurate information. Things are not as they appear. Misunderstandings are likely. Lack of clarity and vagueness can affect how we interact in this cycle. If you are feeling unsure, don't push against it. Avoid trying to force something to make sense or be the way you think it should be. There is a lot of power in acknowledging "I don't know." It opens the way to many possibilities that close to you when you try to convince yourself and others that you do have the answers. Neptune is not a logical planet. It acquires information by feeling into it. It knows what it knows, but usually doesn't know how it knows it.
This cycle is not about being best buddies with everyone or cultivating deep relationships. Instead, Gemini energy is asking us to connect with others and rebuild a sense of community. Open your heart and your mind. Let go of your judgment and assumptions and come from curiosity.
